Written By: Shubhdeep Singh, Surrey BC – Election rallies in BC are in full swing, and everyday new offences and defenses are coming out from both parties. NDP candidates got together on the land which was meant to be a hospital for Surrey residents where NDP Candidate from Surrey-Panorama region Jinny Sims targeted the present government with her words, “This land is sold by BC Liberals to their friends and now they are going to build town houses here instead of hospital.”
“This land was bought by BC NDP in 90’s to build a new hospital for residents and they started planning to start the process but Cristy Clark did sell this piece of land just to balance their budget” told Harry Bains NDP Candidate from Surrey-Newton.
The BC NDP states that they will soon start the planning for construction of a new hospital for Surrey, which will cost approximately $3 million and will be the first stage leading to construction of a new hospital in Surrey.
Contrary to this, BC Liberals differentiated on their view point, calling this event ‘a political stunt by the opposition’, “BC NDP had 10 years to work on their so-called strategies, also in during their tenure the provincial government had cut many ribbons for the construction sites of new projects which never got completed”, said Puneet Sandhar, Liberal Candidate from Surrey Panorama area.
Both the parties are actively campaigning for the elections and there is a neck to neck race between them. However, the decision of the public about their support for one will be revealed after May the ninth, i.e. the election day.
